FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR
Dr Laura Ricketts
Dr Laura Ricketts is started the ECFL project in 2016 after her belated mother took her on a holiday to the beautiful country of The Gambia. She was touched by the warmth of the local hospitality and the vibrancy of the reggae rhythms that influence the culture. However, the high levels of poverty was very apparent and she started the project in an attempt to empower those with restricted resources.
Laura has a passion and dedication towards helping developing communities to thrive and become self sufficient. She is an entrepreneur who prides herself on being an ambassador for equal rights and access of resources for all. Through ECFL, Laura has aspirations of inspiring others and planting seeds of positive change before handing over the batton to the next generation.
CO-DIRECTER
Dr Sana Ahmed
Dr Sana Ahmed joined the ECFL team in 2017. Her energetic leadership style has propelled ECFL to many great achievements as she is able to remain focused and unwavering even amidst hardship and many challenges. Many people don’t understand the level of massive input charities to put to get even small donations, however Sana understands this very well and has used her knowledge base to create some of the charities publicity.
The injustices of the world is something that motivates Sana to be a part of the wheel of change. She believes that every little helps and the sole purpose is to share with those less fortunate than ourselves.
Project Manager
Ms Zemamnesh Campbell
Ms Zemamnesh Campbell is the ECFL project manager. She joined the team as a trustee in 2020 after returning from an ECFL volunteer group trip in 2019 and seeing some of the projects.
Zamamnesh is driven and has a high work ethic. Her specialist skill set helps to create a clear plan of action to execute ECFL’s project objectives within the remits of the charities constitution.
LEAD CO-ORDINATOR FOR THE GAMBIA
Mr Kebba Darboe
Mr Kebba Darboe is a Gambian national who is eager to see the condition of his country improve. Being born and raised in a rural northern region of The Gambia, he uses his first hand experience of his country and it’s challenges to steer the ECFL charity missions in the most critical domains.
Kebba is also the co-ordinator for all our excursions and transportation while on our group trips in The Gambia.
ADMINISTRATOR AND EDUCATIONAL ADVISOR FOR THE GAMBIA
Mr Saikou Darboe
Mr Saikou Darboe is a qualified teacher who became a part of the ECFL dream in 2016 when Laura visited the school he was working at, Bakau Basic school. One of the charities first activities was to raise money to fix the schools infrastructure. Saikou was a critical player in facilitating the smooth completion of this mammoth task whilst also providing support with several other tasks
ADVISOR AND TOURISM GUIDE
Mr Foday Darboe
Mr Foday Darboe is a key member of the ECFL Gambian team. During our group trip he co-ordinates transportation for our excursions. Foday is passionate about reducing poverty and providing employment opportunities for the youth
